Q: What wallets does Aspen Support?
A: Aspen supports Metamask, Coinbase wallet, and Wallet connect. You can find more information on how to install a wallet to your system and connect a wallet to Aspen in the "Getting Started" section of our "Guides" category.
Q: What is ETH?
A: Ether, more commonly known as ETH, is the native currency of the Ethereum blockchain. ETH is used for things such as paying for the transaction fees on Ethereum to incentivize miners.
Q: What is WETH?
A: WETH is Wrapped Ether. WETH is an ERC-20 compatible version of ETH. 1 ETH will always be equivalent to 1 WETH. ETH on its own cannot be pre-approved (no approval) for bidding on items. That's why it needs to be wrapped.
Q: What is the difference between ETH and WETH?
A: Once ETH is wrapped into WETH, it can be used for advanced interactions on decentralized applications like Aspen. In addition, the use of WETH allows standardizing the exchange codebase (for potential support of additional ERC-20 tokens) and also helps mitigating risks such as reentrancy (and other costly fallback) that can occur with the transfer of ethers to unknown parties (e.g., the ask side of the trade)
Q: What is explicit content?
A: Aspen defines explicit content as content which matches one or more of the following criteria:
Strong references to violence, physical, or mental abuse.
Sexual content such as pornographic material.
Discriminatory language such as racial slurs.
Q: What are gas fees on Ethereum?
A: Gas refers to the unit that measures the amount of computational effort required to execute specific operations on the Ethereum network.
Since each Ethereum transaction requires computational resources to execute, each transaction requires a fee. Gas refers to the fee required to conduct a transaction on Ethereum successfully.
Gas fees are paid in Ethereum's native currency, ether (ETH). Gas prices are denoted in gwei, which itself is a denomination of ETH - each gwei is equal to 0.000000001 ETH (10-9 ETH). For example, instead of saying that your gas costs 0.000000001 ether, you can say your gas costs 1 gwei.
